We have already reported that a letter requesting that the site be closed, signed by the Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Ingushetiya, Ibragim Malsagov and the Chairman of the People’s Assembly for the Republic of Ingushetiya, Makhmud Sakalov, was sent to various federal authorities (the General Prosecutor for the Russian Federation, the Director of the FSB for Russia, the Russian Federation Minister of Internal Affairs, the leader of the Russian Federation presidential administration) The order to send the letter was issued by Murat Zyazikov personally, and prepared by the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Ingushetiya, Kazbek Kostoyev.
Several weeks ago in Magas came the reply of the Russian Federation First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Alexander Chekalin to the Ingush authorities’ letter. A copy of the reply was sent straightaway from Magas, but we did not publish the document, as we did not consider it of interest, moreover, the address of the location for the site’s server was incorrectly indicated in it. However, it has emerged that Ingush officials secretly show one another Chekalin’s letter, rubbing their hands in glee that “the site will soon be closed”. They are delighted by the part of the letter about “executing a series of criminal investigative measures” against the site.
Tomorrow in Nazran a meeting will be held with the participation of the Ingush Republic Minister of Internal Affairs Musa Medov and the imams of the mosques where this letter will be secretly read out in order to persuade those gathered that our resource ought to be liquidated fast.
We hasten to disappoint them: no one is about to close the site, insofar as no breach of law has been detected in its activity. In order that Chekalin’s letter not be made a “state secret”, we are publishing it for public perusal.
And, as usual we announce: the Ingushetiya.Ru site will continue its work for the sake of Ingushetiya and its people, to bring truth, to defend justice, to help simple people.
